Estimates, Quotations and the Law

In a contract, which is exactly what you enter in when you provide someone with a quote or an estimate you have to be very careful if you are the person doing the work and if you are the person doing the work. In many cases, contracts are breached and most matters end up in small claims court.

It doesn’t have to be a traumatic experience. If you are the person who wants the work done, here are a few tips to help you through a contract. The thing recommended when you are entering into a contract is make sure it is in writing, do not get involved with a contractor who only want sto provide a verbal contract.

A verbal contract is an basically an invitation to small claims court, never do d a verbal contract even if the contractor came highly recommended don’t do it. Always get it in writing no matter who the contractor is. Next thing would be is to read the contract. You would be surprised at how many people don’t read the contract. Cover yourself by reading the contract and before you sign it. If you see something you don’t agree with don’t sign.
